What is the difference between a bond and an intermolecular force (IMF)?

An intermolecular force is the force of attraction or repulsion between molecules, while a bond is the force of attraction between atoms within a molecule. In other words, a bond is the force that holds atoms together to form a molecule, while intermolecular forces are the forces between separate molecules.
